For a multitude of reasons Rio de Janeiro is the center of the tourist industry in Latin America. Besides its incomperable beauty, its history and the contagious joy of its residents contribute to create a very special atmosphere which reaches its climax during the New Year and "Carnaval" festivities.
The visitor looking for a sophisticated infrastructure of a modern city will find in Rio de Janeiro everything he is looking for. The fact that the city is located between a tropical forest and numerous beaches offers visitors a variety of unique options in same tourist destination.
Rio is a city of contrasts: the colonial architecture remembers times past while modern buildings offer a vision of the future. Two landmarks, true post cards, are world renowned: Sugar Loaf mountain and the statue of Christ the Redeemer.
As a tourist destination, Rio does not rely on the seasons, given its temperate climate year-round, so that its attractions can be appreciated at any time of the year.
Visitors soon discover something that the locals pride themselves on - namely that something is always happening in Rio - exhibits, music and dance shows, sporting events etc.
For those visiting Rio, it is very difficult to resist its 80 kilometers of beaches. Copacabana, with its beautiful sidewalk of "Avenida Atlântica" made of portuguese black and white stone, form a beautiful wavelike mosaic. Its two main beaches, Leme and Copacabana, extend for 4.15 kilometers. Equally enjoyable during the day and night time, the beach offers kiosks, bicycles lanes, bicycle rentals, lifeguard towers with showers and restrooms, hotels, bars and restaurants. At opposite extremes of the beaches are military forts with panoramic views open to the public for visitation.
Come and be charmed by the "Cidade maravilhosa".
